I believe life is about quality – the depth of our relationships, knowledge and actions. My journey started as a graduate civil engineer, detoured via site supervision, and then continued towards research and lecturing. As an assistant resident engineer, I discovered that I enjoy learning about material behaviour and the unique challenges the variability in pavement materials introduce.
Pavement Engineering Expertise: With a foundation in roads and stormwater, I have over 4 years of experience designing, analysing, and optimising transportation infrastructure. I have contributed to numerous projects, including site supervision of a road upgrade project in the Cederberg.
Lecturer and Educator: Sharing knowledge is a core part of my being. As a lecturer, I have had the privilege of challenging and inspiring the next generation of engineers. I’m committed to fostering a deep understanding of pavement engineering principles, data analysis and nurturing the skills required for success in civil engineering.
Passionate Researcher: Specialising in bitumen behaviour and ageing, my curiosity drives me to explore sustainable alternative for bituminous binders. I am actively involved in research projects to improve road surface sustainability and performance. My work has been published in reputable journals and presented at local and national conferences.
Connect with Me: Whether you’re interested in collaborating on industry or research projects, seeking guidance in the field, or simply want to connect, I’d love to hear from you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out via a direct message on LinkedIn.
